Diversity TRAINING Methodology

Bashen employs a variety of customizable training modules designed to promote positive work environments, increase cultural and diversity awareness, improve management and leadership skills, and enhance business practices.  There are four ways in which individuals learn: visually, audibly, analytically, and emotionally.  However, no two people learn exactly the same way.  Bashen recognizes that all learning styles must be addressed to ensure the success of all participants; therefore, we have created a unique training experience that blends several techniques to deliver key information. Bashen’s interactive training courses may utilize live oration, videos, role-playing, group projects, vignettes, activity worksheets, and questions and answers to create a positive educational environment.

Bashen’s training curricula are designed to measurably improve the knowledge and skills of employees at every level.

Diversity

The session reviews the current and future state of the workplace and how characteristics of generational personalities affect the human capital within an organization.  The workshop discusses the interplay between the four different generations represented in the modern workforce, the World War II Generation, Baby-Boomers, Generation X and the Generation Y (the Entitlement Generation.)   Participants will identify their own values, including their sources and how they connect to behavior, develop strategies to promote and improve workplace awareness and assess the accuracy of their knowledge about different religious practices.  The goal of this course is to transform this knowledge into acceptance and empathy.

Anti-Harassment

This workshop provides a detailed look at various forms of harassment.  Anti-harassment policies typically emphasize the responsibility of employees.  The EEOC defines harassment as unwelcome conduct based on race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, age, disability or genetic information.  A review of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, (ADEA), and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, (ADA) will discuss actions in the workplace that may be a form of employment discrimination.  Specific offensive conduct that leads to an intimidating, hostile, or abusive work environment is covered.  Employer responsibilities and liabilities are reviewed, as well as policies designed to protect employers.

Anti-Discrimination

This workshop provides a detailed look at various forms of discrimination. Anti-discrimination policies typically emphasize the responsibility of the employer.  An employer's non-discrimination policy, or equal employment opportunity policy, usually covers conditions of employment including job advertisements; recruitment; testing; hiring and firing; compensation, assignment, or classification of employees;  transfer, promotion, layoff, or recall; use of company facilities;  retirement plans, and disability leave;  other terms and conditions of employment; training and apprenticeship programs; or fringe benefits.. Employers should include "gender identity or expression" (or "gender identity") and "sexual orientation" as protected classes, in addition to other federally-protected classes, in non-discrimination policies.
